Synopsis

Oakie Doke lives in a big oak tree in the middle of the woods and is often called upon to help his neighbours as he is known for his friendliness and handy-man skills.

Points to consider

Words of caution

Examples of accidental harm include:

  • Oakie Doke falls off his scooter when two weasels playing with a home made walkie talkie trip him with their string. Oakie Doke is unharmed.
  • Later they play a trick on a mouseling leading him to believe that his rock has become a talking monster.
  • Oakie Doke pretends to be a picture and then starts moving, the weasels fall over one another in surprise.
  • One of the weasels gets caught up with a run away hoop and spins out of control until he crashes into a table.

Positive aspects

  • Friendliness, helpfulness and a strong sense of community

Questions to ask

  • Do you think that it is nice to play tricks on people?
  • Is there another way that Oakie Doke could have taught the weasels not to play tricks?
