Synopsis

Harry’s favourite toy is his bucket full of dinosaurs which his Nana gave him for a present. Whenever Harry wants to ‘get away’ he jumps in the bucket and enters Dino World where his dinosaurs come to life and they have great adventures.

Points to consider

Words of caution

  • scary scenes, such as when Harry draws a picture of a monster which then comes alive in his dreams
  • slapstick comedy, such as Harry splashing his Nana with mud
  • accidental harm, such as Harry and his dinosaurs all getting glued together

Positive aspects

  • overcoming fears
  • admitting when you’ve done something wrong
  • learning to be responsible
  • stimulates imagination and presents the importance of play

Questions to ask

  • Was Harry’s monster real or ‘make-believe’?
  • How did Harry make his monster less scary?
  • Why didn’t Harry want to have a bath?
  • Why was Harry afraid to tell his Mum that he’d broken her tea cup?
