Synopsis

Funky Valley consists of textured drawings of peculiar looking farmyard friends including a horse, a ram, a cow, a hen, a pig and a grouchy duck who share daily adventures together involving a simple problem or situation that must be overcome.

Points to consider

Words of caution

Most of the shows contain slapstick comedy such as:

  • animals crashing on top of one another
  • banging into things
  • diving from a great height and crashing into the ground
  • being hit in the head by falling apples

Some of the scenes would be very dangerous if imitated

Positive aspects

  • demonstrates friendship
  • shows the animals working together to help one another.

Questions to ask

  • What do you think would have happened to the cow if she had dived like that in real life?
  • Do you suppose that would have hurt?
  • Was there something else she could have done instead to make the duck laugh?
