Synopsis

Fifi and her friends live in a garden and go about their daily lives organizing special days, making food for friends and learning from and helping one another despite the mischievous shenanigans of Stingo and Slugsy two less than friendly neighbours.

Points to consider

Words of caution

Negative behaviour which children may imitate includes:

  • Stingo often speaks unkindly to Slugsy and exhibits other negative behaviours such as laziness, selfishness and greed. In one episode he tries to steal Fifi’s chocolate sauce and in the process breaks her bowl. He doesn’t get away with it but he doesn’t show remorse for his actions either.

Positive aspects

  • Encourages healthy eating habits, friendliness and helpfulness and demonstrates kindness and forgiveness when others behave badly.

Questions to ask

  • How could Stingo have got some chocolate sauce without upsetting other people or breaking their property?
  • Why do you suppose Slugsy and Stingo had such terrible tooth aches after eating all those lollies? What could they have eaten instead?
