Synopsis

Elmo invites the viewer into his world and each episode Dorothy, his fish, will ask a question such as: How do you ride a bike? How do you play a game? Or, how do you play with a baby? Elmo will then seek the answers to the question by asking his neighbour Mr. Noodle, asking other children, and will gather additional information from his computer, TV, or through games.

Points to consider

Words of caution

Some mild slapstick violence including

  • Mr. Noodle has trouble riding a bike and crashes (off screen) at the end
  • a drawer pushes Elmo aside

Positive aspects

  • looks at different ways to gather information
  • uses a variety of sources and depicts children as the experts, using them to gain a better understanding of simple concepts

Questions to ask

Example:

  • What can we do to keep ourselves safe while riding a bike?
