Synopsis

Five year old Eddy’s best friend is an enormous Bear that lives in the woods near his home. Together they have many silly adventures and are always there to help support, enlighten and play with one another.

Points to consider

Words of caution

  • None

Positive aspects

  • demonstrates a caring and supportive friendship where both Eddy and Bear are able to be different, show their differences and still be the best of friends
  • encourages imaginative play integrating many common objects in creative ways
  • exhibits appreciation for the innate curiosity of a young child and explores the world accordingly

Questions to ask

  • In one episode Bear tried to wear clothes like Eddy. This didn’t go very well. Are bears supposed to wear clothes and shoes? What do bears have instead of clothes? Why is this better for them? What did Eddy and Bear learn from their fashion experiment?
