Charlie and Lola is a short program about a little girl (Lola) and her big brother (Charlie). The various episodes generally show Charlie helping or advising Lola in some way. He is a very calm, tolerant and wise older brother who patiently guides his little sister through life, helping her choose a birthday present for a friend, pack a suitcase and clean her room.

Lola has an imaginary friend who appears in numerous episodes. Parents are reminded that imaginary friends can be a normal part of child development, especially in only/first born children and children separated from siblings by a number of years. Parents consequently have the opportunity to discuss with their children certain aspects of Lola’s behaviour.
