Points to consider
Words of caution
Positive aspects
- promotes problem solving, interactive lessons, and co-operation
- has a bi-lingual content that encourages children to be receptive to other languages and cultures
- the manner in which the foe, Swiper the fox, is dealt with is couched in a Protective Behaviours format; children are encouraged to raise their hand to an approaching threat and say sternly “No”
Questions to ask
Parents could encourage their children to broaden their experience from this game by:
- making or purchasing activities similar to those presented within the game. For example, colour matching, pattern recognition, and shape sorting projects will further develop their child’s learning potential.
- reinforcing a child’s confidence to deter potentially harmful people or activities by teaching a child to put forward their hand and say, “Stop, I don’t like it”, may prevent unwanted violation of their rights.
