Synopsis

In this continuation of previous Bratz game, Rock Angelz, the girls are set to win a fashion contest against a rival magazine.  In the process, they continue to scoop feature stories for their next issue whilst aiding friends, buying the latest fashion and accessories and solving puzzles along the way.

Points to consider

Words of caution

  • Promotes concepts of body image (eg. the need to conform to a particular weight or size -usually underweight), glamour and fashion to impressionable young children.

Positive aspects

  • encourages friendship and teamwork

Questions to ask

  • Parents could discuss role models and the impact of peer pressure on development and behaviour eg. “Do you like/have to have clothes with brand names? Why?”, or “Do you like wearing the same clothes as your friends? Why?”  Group affiliation is crucial to development but may be better achieved some other way eg. “What other things could you do to be like your friends?”  Answers involving similar sporting interests or hobbies would be ideal and should be encouraged.
