Questions to ask

With regard to the concept that Barbie may promote unreal body image, parents could discuss their own and their child’s views regarding the doll.  If the attraction to the doll is the beauty she portrays, discuss the concept of beauty, reassure your child of their own beauty, and work out ways of providing other female role models that you regard to be less sexually provocative in nature.
