Synopsis

It’s almost Christmas and Santa (Tim Allen) is in a difficult bind. Not only is he needed at home by son Charlie (Eric Lloyd) but he has discovered that there is a clause in his contract which states that he must be married by Christmas Eve or he will be ‘de-santafied’. Santa and his elves devise a replicating machine to make a fake Santa to carry on the work at the North Pole but he proves to be a real disaster.

Points to consider

Words of caution

Some scenes might scare younger children.

There is some slapstick comedy such as:

  • a reindeer crashes into elves
  • a rough football match
  • Santa falls down stairs
  • Santa and the fake Santa wrestle over the sleigh
  • the sleigh crashes into toy soldiers.

Questions to ask

  • Do you think Christmas is just about getting lots of toys?
  • Why do we celebrate Christmas?
