TV - selected programs and reviews

There are two main places where you will find quality TV programs for children:

1. ABC for kids

The ABC screens many quality programs made specifically for preschool children and for older children in the mornings and after school, as well as now having a dedicated children's channel, ABC3. Details of programs and associated websites for children can be found on the ABC children's television website

2. Commercial television

On commercial TV there are quotas of programs:

  • P-130 hours per year (half an hour per day) for preschool children,
  • C-260 hours per year (five hours per week) for primary school aged children

Details of programs can be found on the websites of the television channels.

Reviews

The US based Common Sense Media reviews television programs shown in the US, many of which can also be seen in Australia
