Classifications - publications

Not all publications have to be classified.

Those which do need to be classified fall into three categories:

• Restricted Category 1 (sold sealed and saleable only to those over 18)
• Restricted Category 2 (sold only in shops where entry is restricted to those 18 years and over)
• Refused Classification (RC).

Classification is done by the Classification Board using the Guidelines for the Classification of Publications.
