Australian Council on Children and the Media:
Board of Directors

The ACCM Board contains one representative of each state of Australia and two representatives from its corporate membership. There are ten Board members in all, plus an appointed Secretary and Treasurer.

New South Wales Helen Walton B.Soc.Sci, Dip Ed. Post Grad Diploma in Counselling, representing parent interests across NSW, has background in education and works in the TAFE system

Elisabeth Crossman
BTh., Grad Dip Past. Couns., Parish Priest, Anglican Parish of Goondiwindi, Queensland; Social Responsibility Co-ordinator, The Mothers' Union in Australia Inc.


Victoria Prof Ann Sanson BA, PhD, Professor in Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne, a child psychologist with expertise on children’s social and emotional development, including the impact of media, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children


Tasmania Anne Fitzgerald BSW, media consultant and former broadcaster with the ABC, social work background in child protection and domestic violence crisis work and youth homelessness, involved with projects aimed at developing resilience through music. Anne is a research unit coordinator at UTAS.

 

Australian Capital Territory Rosemary Crowley BA/LLB, Special Counsel in commercial law at Deacons, holds a long-term interest in youth justice issues, legal education in schools, has lobbied governments on issues relating to children in the media and is involved in community sporting associations.

PhD, senior lecturer in child development in the deLissa Institute of Early Childhood and Family Studies, long history of research and advocacy with ACCM, consultant on many children's programs for the ABC and commercial interests, and authored The Child Audience for the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal.
